National Community

Thomson House works closely with national organisations such as Network Rail to promote safety and well-being around the school’s area. We participate in Anti-Bullying Week, a nationally recognised annual event, as well as Black History month and we work closely with road safety organisations.

Each term we support a different charity and once a year the charity will have a national bias. So far we have supported MacMillan Nurses (via the annual Coffee Morning initiative), Jeans for Genes day, Mungos and the British Heart Foundation. At Thomson House we believe in showing kindness to those less fortunate than ourselves – it is one of our core values.

Although we are a new school we are lucky enough to have gained the bronze STAR award, a nationally recognized travel ward for sustainable travel. We are now working towards our silver award. We are also working towards our Healthy Schools Award and the Artsmark.

Thomson House aims to forge links with other schools in different parts of the country so that our children can learn about British culture and values in an engaging and vibrant manner.
